Frequently Asked Questions
Q) How long before my kit will
be shipped?
A) We are usually able to ship
the standard kits out within 3 business days. If there is going
to be a delay we will notify you at the time you place your
order
Q) Will these pulleys fit on my engine?
A) BMD Pulleys will fit any
Type I engine with a separate generator stand. The base part
of the system mounts to the rear two studs on the generator
stand.
Q) Will your system work
with the Porsche style fan?
A) No, with the Porsche style fan
there is no place to mount the base.
Q) What are the pulley
dimensions?
A) The crank pulley is
6-3/4", the generator pulley is 3-3/4", and the idler
roller is 2-1/4". The Dry Sump pulley is 5" and the
generator pulley is 2-7/8".
Q) What are the belt
dimensions?
A) The belt dimensions are 11/16" x
37-1/8", Napa part# 25 050365, Gates part# K050365, Dayco
part# 5050365, Goodyear part# 4050365, Armormark part# 365K5, and
AC Delco part# 5K365.
Q) If necessary, can the
bearings be replaced?
A) We do not foresee the need
to replace the original bearings, but if you decide to go to a
ceramic bearing or wish to change them for any reason, they can
be easily changed with snap-ring pliers.
Q) Can I use either an electric
or mechanical fuel pump?
A) Yes, both can be
used.
Q) Can I use my generator or do
I need an alternator?
A) You can use
either.
Q) Will your kit work on a type
IV engine?
A) These kits are designed for
the type I engine, but several of our customers have done the
necessary modifications to adapt then to their type IV engines.

Q) I'm building a show car
and was wondering if I could get a kit in a custom
color?
A) Yes, for an additional
$45.00. (Allow a least an additional 2 weeks for
shipping)
